Community Guidelines
Last updated: October 27, 2026 (draft)
These guidelines keep MYCORAE helpful, safe and welcoming for everyone who loves fungi.
Our community
MYCORAE brings together growers, foragers, cooks, photographers, researchers and the curious. Be generous with knowledge, patient with beginners and respectful when you disagree.
Safety first
Never tell someone a wild mushroom is safe to eat based on photos. Say what features you see and encourage in-person confirmation by a qualified local expert.
Clearly flag poisonous and deadly lookalikes when you know them.
Do not encourage risky consumption, dosing or illegal use of any species.
Treat AI identification as a starting point for learning, not an answer.
Not allowed
Harassment, bullying, threats, hate speech or targeting someone for who they are.
Spam: repeated posts, mass follows, misleading links, advertising without permission or fake engagement.
Sharing other people's private information, including exact private foraging spots or home locations, without permission.
Selling or trading controlled substances, or instructions for illegal activity.
Sexual content, graphic violence or content that exploits anyone.
Impersonating other members, experts or organisations.
Posting photos or writing you do not have the right to share.
Respect the land
Forage responsibly, follow local rules and permissions, and avoid sharing sensitive locations of rare or protected species.
Reporting and blocking
Use Report on a post, comment or profile to send it to our moderators. Reports are private: the person you report is not told who reported them.
Use Block on a profile to stop seeing each other's posts and comments while signed in and to prevent each other from commenting, liking, saving or following. Blocking also removes existing follows between you. You can unblock at any time.
Moderation
Moderators review reports and may dismiss them, mark them reviewed, or remove posts and comments that break these guidelines. Repeated or serious violations may lead to account restrictions.
